POLICY & CONDITIONS

A complete list of Policies & Conditions will be sent via email for your review and signature after your reservation has been made.

Booking and Payment:

  • A 50% deposit is required once your booking is accepted to secure your reservation. Full payment is due 14 days before the check-in date.

 

Check-In and Check-Out:

  • Check-in time is 3:00 PM, and check-out time is 10:30 AM. Late check-outs will incur an additional fee of $25.00, charged to the card on file.

 

Age Requirement:

  • Guests must be at least 21 years old to rent this property. 

 

Occupancy:​

  • The maximum occupancy for the vacation home is 7 guests. Please notify us in advance of any additional guests (not to exceed 7). Guests are welcome to invite visitors; however, no additional overnight guests who are not part of the reservation will be permitted.

 

Cleaning Fee:

  • A $100 fee will be applied to all bookings to cover the cost of cleaning and sanitizing the apartment after each guest.

 

Smoking/Vaping:

  • For the health and safety of all guests and to maintain the integrity of our property, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the vacation home. An additional $200 cleaning fee will be added if this policy is not upheld.

 

Pets:

  • We regret to inform you that pets of any size are not permitted. 

Fish Cleaning/Cooking:

  • Cleaning fish in the unit is not permitted. Please clean your catch at one of the public fish-cleaning stations on the River Walk and/or First Street Beach.

  • Please refrain from cooking fish in the apartment. 

 

Parking:

  • Two-hour parking in front of the apartment is allowed for loading/unloading. Daily and overnight parking is free and located only 1 block away. Look for directions in the rental welcome packet 

 

Damages:

  • Guests are responsible for any damages incurred during their stay. Damage protection is a one-time, non-refundable fee charged to your credit card separately once your reservation has been reviewed and approved by the vacation rental manager. The charge will appear from "VacationRentalDesk.com", which is the billing merchant of record for your Damage Protection Plan.

 

Travel Insurance:

  • Guests can purchase optional travel insurance. Travel insurance provides reimbursement of 100% of trip costs for 30+ covered reasons including: documented illness, injury, natural disasters, or travel delays. Credit card required.

 

Cancellation Policy:

  • For Cancellations made 30 days before the check-in date will receive a full refund. 

  • For cancellations between 29 and 14 days will provide a 50% refund.

  • For cancellations between 7 - 13, a one-time credit will be given minus 10% of the cost for the total stay. This credit may be used to rebook within the next 365 days (subject to availability) of the original booking date. Any additional costs due for the rebooked stay will be due in full at the time of rescheduled booking. No money back, cancellations or reschedules are accepted for those using this one-time credit. No exceptions.

  • For cancellations less than 7 days, no refund or credit will be provided.

 

Quiet Hours:

  • Please respect quiet hours from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests and local residents.

 

Hashtag Permission:

  • By using the designated hashtag #shafferhausmanistee, you grant Shaffer Haus permission to share and promote your photos featuring our rental property. We may repost, distribute, or use these photos for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to grant this permission, please refrain from using the hashtag.
